Why get an EICR?

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a thorough inspection and assessment of the electrical installations within a property. Several reasons why getting an EICR is important are:

  1. Safety: Identifying and fixing potential hazards such as shocks and fires.
  2. Issue Identification: Pinpointing electrical problems for proactive maintenance.
  3. Peace of Mind: Assuring occupants of a safe living or working environment.
  4. Legal Compliance: Meeting regulations for landlords and property owners.
  5. Insurance: Providing evidence of safety for insurance purposes.
  6. Property Value: Enhancing property appeal and marketability.

In essence, an EICR ensures safety, legal compliance, and peace of mind for property owners and occupants.

Here at Joltify LTD we can provide you with a fixed cost for an EICR with no hidden fees, inform you of any remedial action that should be taken, and describe the benefits these would bring.

Fuseboard Installation FAQs

How long does it take to undertake an EICR?

This is dependent on the size and age of the property and the number of circuits/boards that need testing. Generally speaking, they typically take a morning or afternoon to complete the site visit.

Who can issue me with an EICR?

Electrical testing and inspection can only be completed by electrically competent, qualified electricians.

Are there different types of an EICR?

In general, there are two types of domestic electrical installation condition reports:

  • Visual condition report – this does not include testing and is only suitable if the installation has been tested recently
  • Periodic inspection reports – this is what we would normally recommend, as it tests the installation and finds any hidden hazards or necessary action to take.
